Vestaburg Elementary School

Kindergarten

This week we focused on the letter Kk. Your child

should know how to correctly write a capital and
small letter Kk and be able to tell you the sound
that it makes. (K says kkkkk, kid in a kayak, k, k,
k.) Please have your child show you how to make Ee
Aa Hh Kk and write his/her name.
In math we have been writing numbers 1-4 and
counting objects 1-10. Please ask your child to write
numbers 1-4 and count groups of objects. You could
say, Show me 5 goldfish. Do this for groups up to
10.
We have also been working on partners for numbers,
such as: 2 & 3 is 5 or 3 & 4 make 7. We do this
using squares, cubes, etc. You could also do this at
home w/ objects.
Thank you for any extra help at home with this!
We are still learning about the 5 senses
in science. This week we focused on
hearing and touching. We learned about
how sounds are made by vibrations. We
also felt different objects and described
how they felt (rough, smooth, bumpy,
soft, etc.)
Please send a snack (no peanut butter,
nuts, or made in a facility with nuts) for
23 students for the month of October.
Thank you for all of your donations. The
students love snack time!
