Dear Madam or Sir,

I am Monica Br Ginting, member of IFSA LC IPB in Indonesia. I have been studying Forest
Product Technology in Bogor Agricultural University since 2015. With this letter I hereby would
like to state my motivation to attend The 27th session of the Asia-Pacific Forestry Commission
(APFC) in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from 23 to 27 October 2017.

I am seeking the opportunity to be participant in this event to enable me gain the knowledge and
experience that deal with forest-related issues in Asia-Pacific region, whilst allowing me to
spread it again to others.

I believe that discussion about forest will never enough, because forest serves as basis for society
and the economy as it provides both natural resources for human needs and life support
functions, so I hope my educational background and experience in the university which are
closely related to this event, make me an appropriate candidate for the delegation position.

I am also motivated to apply because I am aware of the forest condition nowadays, I believe that
as young people, we will play a huge role in the reunification of the country and the world, and it
will give us big challenges that we have to face later, so we have to know how the real fact of our
forest, beside all of it, I would like to know FAO more as the organizer, as we know FAO helps
nations manage their forests in a sustainable way for the present and the future generations.

I am hoping to learn powerful lessons from this opportunity. My attendance at this event is a
wise experience and will pay off for years to come.
