Organised space design for the residents of the area, the basic amenities of
the people and the tourists, impacting in the overcrowded nature of the
streets.
Addition of comfortable spaces viz. parking, retail areas, recreational places
in the site attracting the tourist interests.
Design Concept:
As we were designing focusing on the cultural aspects of Hinduism. Its main
principles were incorporated into the spaces in the precinct.
These principles included Artha(economy), Dharma(righteousness),
Kama(Desire), Moksh(Peace).
So, in the site these principles were applied according to the spaces where
such activities were to be performed.
The facets of rural change and transformation in the place was improved by
the addition of shops, dharamshalas, proper parking facilities, space
planning etc.
By the implementation of landscape elements in the ghats viz. gazebos,
lamp posts, sitting areas and the prioritizing the space according to the
requirement of the activity.
Essential accommodation facilities i.e. Dharamshalas, were done outside the
ghat area for the direct connection of the priests and the pilgrims to the
ghat area.
Employment facilities were introduced by the design of commercial areas
specialising in garlands etc.
The Control of over population was an impact due to the design of the area.
