Our Fathers Desire

Everyone wants to be pleasing to our heavenly Father!

We all look forward to the day when He looks at us and says well done thy
good and faithful servant.

To hear those words we must learn to do what pleases Him. We need to

know Our Fathers Desire

Our Father desires that no one would perish and that all might be saved!

John 3:16-17
16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God did
not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might
be saved through Him. 18 He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does
not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the
name of the only begotten Son of God.

Ezekiel 18:31-32
31 Cast away from you all your transgressions which you have committed
and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! For why will you die, O
house of Israel? 32 For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies,
declares the Lord GOD. Therefore, repent and live.
Ezekiel 33:11
11 Say to them, As I live! declares the Lord GOD, I take no pleasure in the
death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live.
Turn back, turn back from your evil ways! Why then will you die, O house of
Israel?

1Tim. 2:4-7
4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the
truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony
given at the proper time. 7 For this I was appointed a preacher and an
apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying) as a teacher of the Gentiles in
faith and truth.

Thats why he sent prophets, Jesus, Paul and now us! Thats why this church
is here!

Our Fathers Desire is that all be saved from:

Original sin
Their personal sin
This perverse generation
His holy wrath

God doesnt want anyone to parish!

Thats why its time for us as a church to move from just walking with Christ
to being sent out by Christ to fulfill Our Fathers Desire!
(The Disciples walked with Him for a reason and that was to learn and
be sent out by Him)
An old songs says: It seems my children all want to sit around my
table and no one wants to work in my field.

Why is America where it is today? Because weve not been willing to

go work in the field.

Church member misunderstanding: (Sheep beget Sheep)

How many of you got saved because on your own you came to church
and gave your life to Christ?

How many of you got saved through a personal relationship sharing

Christ with you?

Its time that we as a church embraced our real mission:

To seek and save the lost!

Example: If one of your children were missing wouldnt you go after them.
Wouldnt your other children be focused on that as well?

Our Fathers Desire is that:

We get a heart for the lost

Pauls heart for the lost was so strong that he would rather parish in
hell than see them parish in hell.

Moses was the same way. He would have rather God eras his name out
of the book of life than the people be destroyed in their sin.

Jesus did go to hell so that others would not have to.

That we open up our eyes and see the harvest all around us

John 4:34-35
34 Jesus *said to them, My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me
and to accomplish His work. 35 Do you not say, There are yet four
months, and then comes the harvest? Behold, I say to you, lift up your
eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest.

That we stop focusing on ourselves and start focusing on others

Story: God told me to do His work and He would mend my boy

We have to be willing to reach out to others.

Study: 82% of people who are unchurched are willing to go to church if

invited but only 2% of people in church invite others to go to church.
98% of the people that go to church are satisfied with sitting around
the table instead of working in the field.

Our Fathers Desire is that none would parish and that all would come to the
saving knowledge of Jesus Christ!

But He has an everlasting question.

Who will help Us?

Is. 6:8-9a
8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will
go for Us? Then I said, Here am I. Send me! 9 He said, Go, and tell this
people:.

If the answer is send me:

We need to get a heart for the lost
We need to open up our eyes
We need to focus on others
