Itinerary: Paris, Versailles, Florence, Pisa, Rome, Sorrento, Pompeii
Day 1: Fly overnight to Paris
Day 2: Paris region
-Walking tour of: Seine River, Ile de la Cite, Conciergerie, St. Chapelle, Pont Neuf
-Latin Quarter & Sorbonne University, Louvre
Day 3: Paris region
-Bus tour: Notre Dame Cathedral, Arc de Triomphe, Place de la Concorde, Champs-Elyses,
Ecole Militaire, Musee DOrsay, Eiffel Tower
-Travel to and explore The Palace of Versailles
Day 4: Paris region
-We will be allowed to choose to revisit sites (such as the Eiffel Tower) or visit places we
havent seen yet. We will make these plans as a group and with our tour director.
-Overnight train to Florence
Day 5: Florence
-Giottos Bell Tower & Piazza del Duomo
-Gates of Paradise & Piazza della Signoria
Day 6: Florence to Rome
-Travel to Pisa and see the Leaning Tower, Battistero di San Giovanni, Piazza dei Miracoli
-Travel by train to Rome
Day 7: Rome
-Ancient Rome: Forum Romanum and Colosseum
-Piazza di Spagna, Trevi Fountain, and Piazza Navona
Day 8: Rome to Sorrento
-Travel to and visit the lost civilization and city of Pompeii and the region of Sorrento.
Day 9: Sorrento to Rome
-Cruise across the Bay of Naples to the Isle of Capri (or visit Villa San Michele re weather)
-Travel by funicular to Capri and see Arco Naturale, Faraglioni
Day 10: Depart for home
Everything included in this tour:
Round trip flights on major carriers; Comfortable motor coach; 8 overnight stays in hotels with private
bathrooms; European breakfast and dinner daily; Full-time Tour Director; Sightseeing tours led by
expert, licensed local guides and tour director; Entrances to all sites
COST: $3,615 for students (under 20 years of age); $4,065 for adults
Additional Expenses:
Spending money for excursions, souvenirs, beverages, lunches, and snacks per diem: $30-$65
Tips for Tour Director, drivers, and local guides: $10 per diem x 10 = $100 per traveler (pay to Minton)
Passport fees: $80 (under age 16), $110 (age 16 and older)

Your Assignments for the next Meeting, Monday, October 30 2016:

1. Apply for your Passport (requires 2 photos - can take at Walgreens)
2. Purchase two additional passport photos for Mrs. Minton, photocopy of the signed first pages
of your Passport. If you already have a passport, you can still take new ones and give to me -
they do not have to match your current passport photo.
3. Call EF and VERIFY the spelling of your name as it appears on your Passport (critical for our
reservations)
4. Purchase your guidebook about France/Italy and start reading.
5. Program REMIND in your cell phone for special notices (see above).
6. Watch for a text or email from me about a student assignment. Prizes awarded!
