Topic : Unit 9 The Holidays

Learning Standard : 2.2.4 Able to read and understand paragraph with form simple and

compound sentences.

Objective : By the end of the lesson pupils should be able to read and understand

phrases and sentences.

Teaching Aids : Word list, texts (page 68)

CCE : Contextual Learning

Pre- Reading 1. Pupils look at the texts given then read it silently.
(15 minutes)
While-Reading 1. Teacher reads the texts to the class and the pupils listen carefully.
(20 minutes) 2. Teacher shows the words to the class and the pupils read after the
teacher aloud.
3. Teacher divides them into 4 groups.
4. Pupils read the texts in groups and individually with correct stress and
intonation.
5. Pupils will listen teacher instructions which groups read first.
6. Teacher ask questions to the pupils about the texts read orally.

Post-Reading 1. Pupils read the words shown by the teacher:e.g

(20 minutes)
fruit
tree
road
hobby
2. Pupils relates the picture with the correct sentence pattern.
3. Pupils answer the comprehension questions.

Closure 1. Teacher picks a few pupils to picks some of the word cards in the box.
(5 minutes) 2. Pupils pick a card and read aloud the word.
3. Teacher asks the pupils to say the words in the word list together.
