1) What is BHIM: centres flagship digital payment application.

2) Features of BHIM: two main features
Send or ask for money
See your account balance or previous UPI
3) UPI common library: a piece of code that NPCI made and
gave to every bank to be embedded into their net banking
application, was already there.
4) How BHIM is more secure than e wallet:
While e wallet use a one factor authentication mode
BHIM uses three factor authentication and hence is relatively
more secure from a consumer point of view.
5) How it operates :
When a user opens BHIM application for the first time, the
application automatically bound itself to their device id and
phone number- both of which are unique. This means that
same UPI cannot use from two phones. The BHIM application
will also not work on a phone which doesnt have SIM card.

This uniquely identifies not just the device but the active
number.
The third factor is the UPI PIN, set by the user which will be
required for every transaction through the application.
6) Why to use BHIM as compared to m wallet: in m wallet to
transfer money first you have to transfer that money from
your account to wallet but its not the case in BHIM app. You
can directly send the money from your account to other
person account.
7) BHIM app is connected to 35 listed banks.
8) Before UPI there was three popular options of digital
payments
Net banking
Mobile wallets
Plastic cards.

Net banking: allows a user to access the bank account

without going to the bank, but a third party transfer even
within the same bank takes minimum 30 minutes. Net
banking process is lengthy
Thats where e wallets come .
