MEng Motorsport
Engineering

The Foundation of
Engineering course was
extremely useful for me, it
gave me the opportunity
to prove that I really was
capable of becoming a
great engineer, despite not
necessarily having acquired
the right qualifications
previously. I am now in my
final of year of an MEng
degree in Motorsport
Engineering and loving it.
As a student at Brunel I
have had the pleasure
of competing as a team
member at Formula
Student motorsport design
competitions, and will be
doing so again as a team
manager in the future. I
have also won an award
(the Crown Engineering
Design Team prize) for some
of my project work. During
my time here I have been
involved in multiple societies
and sports clubs, including
the film society, swimming
team, mountain climbing
and archery.
After I graduate I plan
to work in either the
motorsport industry, such
as for an F1 team, or
in performance vehicle
research, engineering the

sports cars of tomorrow.

Careers
Opportunities for graduates of this course exist throughout the
world, as contributors to the challenging global energy market. The
UK Climate Change Act 2008 includes legally binding targets for
the UK to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by at least
80 per cent by 2050, and by at least 34 per cent by 2020. Methods
of energy generation, sources of energy consumption, amount
of energy demand and how it is delivered have a strong bearing
on GHG emissions. Renewables are being promoted through
favourable policies such as Feed in Tariff (FiT) and Renewable Heat
