1. Expert by Aria Nugraha : Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) is an approach in

foreign language teaching which emphasizes the concept of interaction, both
process and goal of the learning process. Historically, CLT has arisen as a response to
the Audio-Lingual Method (ALM), which is considered inappropriate in language
learning.
This method departs from the understanding that language is a tool to communicate
is not just a set of rules. Therefore, language teaching should cling to the
understanding, that learning a language is learning to use language not learn about
the language.
Expert by Jill Kerper Mora of San Diego University : Basically the Audio-Lingual
method is similar to the other methods. The method appears before this method is a
method of direct (Direct Method). The Audio-Lingual method is the method the
which focuses in repetition some words to memorize. [1] Audio-Lingual method is a
method roomates use pattern drills and practice in language teaching. [2] As Jill
Kerper Mora of San Diego University says:
"This method26 is based on the principles of behavioral psychology. It adapted many
of the principles and procedures of the Direct Method, in part as a reaction to the
lack of speaking skills of the Reading Approach" [3].
My opinion : This approach is an approach to language emphasizing teaching
achieved between the object and the subject (the students). This approach allows
the students to have attachments between one another for exchanging ideas to
share information with friends familiar with the information they share . And Audio-
lingual method is a method by which many do practices and exercises in speaking
either in the form of a dialogue, sermons, etc. which are expected students to speak
as the owner of the language itself. Audio-lingual method is basically an extension of
the direct method which is considered to have weaknesses, especially in explaining
things that are difficult to understand students.

2. CLT is a holistic appraoch. This approach not only focus on traditional structural
syllabus, but also consider the communicative dimension of language.CLT menyajkan
passion and motivation to students in the classroom. CLT is the learners that
emphasizes the interests and needs of the learners. In this world, where the
communication of information and information technology has greatly advanced,
CLT can play an important role as an educator. And CLT Focuss to Syllabus.

3. I Think Audio Lingual Methode is Prefer dan CLT Methode because previously this
method gives primary attention to training activities, drill, memorizing vocabulary,
dialogue, reading text, and on the other hand prefer the outer shape of the language
(pattern, structure, rules) than on its contents, and give priority to the validity and
accuracy of the student's ability to interact and communicate.Application of this
method is almost the same as the first application of language teaching to children,
children master the native language through imitation. Impersonation is usually
followed by praise or repair. Through the activities that children develop knowledge
about the structure, patterns mother tongue. Then the same thing can also be
applied in the teaching of a second language or a foreign language. By way of
imitation and reinforcement, the students identify the relationship between stimulus
and response which is a custom in the second language or a foreign language.

4. a competency in communication that controls various types of text. The text

employs the theme, grammar and specific context. In one day, a speaker can use
spoken language in different themes and contexts, for example: 1. Conversations
with parents.2. Conversations with doctors about health.3. Conversations with
strangers on the street.4. The conversation over the phone to meet up with friends.

5. Task-based learning focuses on the use of authentic language through meaningful

tasks such as visiting the doctor or a telephone call. This method encourages
meaningful communication and is student-centred.

Characteristics:

-Students are encouraged to use language creatively and spontaneously through

tasks and problem solving.

-Students focus on a relationship that is comparable to real world activities

-The conveyance of some sort of meaning is central to this method

-Assessment is primarily based on task outcome

-TBLT is student-centered.

6. Realia resources are everyday, authentic objects, such as photographs, menus, brochures,
receipts, maps, movies, television shows, commercials, etc. that are used to teach and learn
languages. Some researchers include any items that can be used to prompt conversations or
role-play, such as telephones, but those are generally meant to be employed in the
classroom with other learners. For self-study, the most helpful realia illustrates how the
language is actually used in the country where it is spoken. Visiting the country to
experience the language is obviously the best way to learn, but in the absence of the time
and money necessary for travel, the internet can provide much of the realia needed.

The advantages of using Realia As English teachers, the use of realia is only limited by your
imagination. It is possible to use realia to teach almost any subject. Using realia stimulates
the mind, and is one way of encouraging creativity by involving the senses. Realia saves
time, as recognition of an object is immediate and so cuts out the need for lengthy
explanations and drawing funny pictures on the board. Elicitation becomes much easier and
holding up the object with a raised eyebrow will usually result in the desired word being
spoken.
