Series Resistors and Voltage Division

The equivalent resistance of any number of resistors connected in series


is the sum of the individual resistances.

Parallel Resistors and Current Division

The equivalent resistance of two parallel resistors is equal to the product


of their resistances divided by their sum.

Apply KVL around the loop
Find V0 and I0 in the circuit shown in Fig. Calculate the power
dissipated in the 3 - resistor.

For the given circuit, determine voltage V0, power supplied by the
current source, power absorbed by each resistor.

6 k and 12 k are in series, = 18 k


Apply current division rule to find i1 and i2
