(1) 0.20.0.50% manganese for B8A3N, N2, N3, N4, N5, N6, Nl 1, N22, and N33.
Upon written approval by the purchaser, the chemical requirements of B8A3 may be modified in accordance with the
requirements of GE Material Specification 68A67 similar to UNS G10080 (AISI 1008). The specified chemistry is as
follows: 0.10 max carbon, 0.50 max manganese, 0.040 max phosphorus, 0.050 max sulfur.
The heat analysis (formerly ladle analysis) made by the manufacturer to determine the percentage of elements required
under this specification shall be reported to the purchaser or his representative in a certificate of test when required on
purchase order or otherwise.
A product analysis (formerly check analysis) may be made by the purchaser from a sample representing each melt. The
chemical composition thus determined shall conform to the requirements of thls specification within the AISI permissible
variation for product analysis.

MECHANICAL PROPERTIES:
Bend test - Material shall be capable of being bent flat upon itself in any direction. It is not necessary for the producer to
perform the test. If the purchaser elects to perform the test and there is a failure, the material is rejectable.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Imperfections - The material shall be free from injurious external and internal imperfections of a nature which will interfere
with the purpose for which it is intended.
Cut edge - GE Materials B8A3A, A2, A7, A8, Al 1, A22, A77, A88, B, N, N2, N3, Nil, N22, N33, X, X5, Xl 1 and X55 shall be
furnished with a slit or sheared edge.
Oiled -When oiled sheets are ordered, mill standard oiling may be furnished unless otherwise specified.
Special for forming -When B8A3R, R2, Rl 1 or R22 is ordered, the manufacturer shall furnish material suitable for forming
parts shown on a drawing which shall be furnished with the order. If orders do not specify the drawing number, they
should be questioned as being incomplete.
