Lesson idea implementation: I will introduce students to a book called Big Red Barn by Margaret Wine Brown. I will have the class gathered around on the carpet and begin reading to them. After each page, I will ask them what animals are on the page. Then, we will discuss what animals are on a farm and what animals are at Zoos. I will have them go back to their seat and pick out two animals that are found at the farm and describe the animal. Once they are done, they act out the animal to the class and the class has to guess what animal they are. Each student acts out two animals each. I will ask my students basic questions like: How do you know which animals are zoo animals and which are farm animals? Each student will make their own e-book about their favorite farm animal. They will choose one animal and make a PowerPoint of what that animal eats, where on a farm it lives, and why they chose that animal. They will have a few days to complete this using the computer lab. It will be graded based on completion and if they have covered the listed topics.
