Heroes and Troops.
In this guide I assume you already know the basics of KC, so you
know how to train troops, upgrade buildings etc. This is a little more
advanced.
Troops and Heroes arent very easy to grasp if youre not familiar
with them. Starting off, there are currently five types of troops,
Namely:
1. Infantry
2. Archers
3. Cavalry
4. Siege weapons
5. Mages

Infantry and Archers take up 1 space, Cavalry takes up 3 spaces,

Mages take up 5 spaces and Siege weapons take up 8 spaces, this will
be important later when were discussing hero chief types.

Each troop is split into 2 categories namely:

1. Attacking
2. Defending
Attacking troops have a little sword icon on the top left corner of their
icon when you take a look at them in the camps and Defending troops
have a little shield.
ATTACKING TROOPS ARE USED FOR ATTACKING
DEFENDING TROOPS ARE USED FOR DEFENDING
This is very important because people misinterpreted the defending
troops for bulky troops. Absolutely do not attack with your defending
troops; also do not defend with attacking troops!
When you use defence troops click the little (!) on the top right of
their icon in the train menu, check out their Anti-(X) stat. ( X could be
Infantry, Rider, Archer or Mage)
The Anti-(X) stat represents the defensive power of that troop against
another type of troop. Each troop is good at defending against another
troop; it might come in handy one day.
Siege weapons are a little different; they dont just attack troops like
the others.
Siege weapons target your castle wall and archer towers before your
troops enter. ( Note: they do not clear out traps)
Siege weapons attack the castle wall first, if they get through they
attack and destroy the archer towers before they can fire on the troops.

Next up is Heroes, theyre equally important as troops since you will

certainly lose if you send just troops in without a hero.
Heroes used for stationing in buildings for buffs and in wildlands for
buffs are called Affair Heroes, they do not require troops.
Heroes lead the normal troops, they give them VERY significant
boosts. Heroes consist of : Hero LV, Hero Type, Aptitude, Attack,
Defense, Affairs, Chief and Chief type. (Additionally each hero has its
power it sums up how power your hero is.)
Hero Lv: raises the Att/Def/Aff/Chief stat ( need EXP to level up)
Hero Type: Defending/Attacking Affairs. Pretty self-explanatory.
Aptitude: A measure of Hero quality.
Attack: Buff to attack
Defense: Buff to defending
Affairs: Buff to affairs
Chief: The amount of troops that this hero gives buff to (do not put
more troop places in the army of a hero than the chief stat of that hero)
Chief type: the type of troops that the hero buffs, do not put other
types in the army of a hero than its chief type.
(Equipment boosts these stats)
Lets give you guys an example:
Take my level 54 Nime, 9275 Power (This is his stat power)
Hero Type: Attack (Use this hero for attacking)
Aptitude: 1.65 (A reasonable Aptitude, Aptitude doesnt change)
Attack: 1161+529 (+529 from his equipment)
Defense: 680+196 (+196 from his equipment)
Affairs: 806+196 (+196 from his equipment)
Chief: 4838+724(+724 from his equipment)
Chief Type: offensive infantry.

How to use this hero:

1. Use offensive infantry (attack)
2. Since infantry take up 1 space each fit him with 5562 offensive
infantry troops. 5562/1 = 5562.
3. Use him for attacking.

Take my level 54 Carbul, 11280 Power (This is his stat power)

Hero Type: Defence (Use this hero for defending)
Aptitude: 1.86 (Great Aptitude, Aptitude doesnt change)
Attack: 1025+245 (+245 from his equipment)
Defence: 1741+519 (+519 from his equipment)
Affairs: 1033+245 (+245 from his equipment)
Chief: 12308+742(+742 from his equipment)
Chief Type: Defensive mage

How to use this hero:

1. Use Defensive Mages (defence)
2. Since mages take up 5 spaces each fit him with 2610 defensive
mages. 13050/5 = 2610
( if you dont want to do the math, when you equip your hero
with troops it says Chief effect Just drag the bar until its just
filled up and play around a little)
3. Use him for Defending. (station him)

ADDITIONALLY: ONLY USE EPIC HEROES, THEY

OUTCLASS NORMAL HEROES BY FAR!
Attacking and Defending.
Get your heroes up to level first by attacking monsters and giving
them EXP manually using the drops of monsters and the hourly chest.
When you want to attack someone you can chose between two options
:Diplomatic/Invasion. Diplomatic forbids attacking of allied castles or
territory (Occupied Castles/villages/Wildlands/Miracles).
Squads sit around in the castle unless you station them, they will be
the first and sometimes the only ones to defend when you station
them.
Attacking is divided in 3 options namely:
1. Attack
2. Siege
3. Raid
Attacking an opponent targets ONLY their stationed troops and
defences (Traps/Archer towers) and does not yield any resources and
does not get you the target (except for wildlands).
Afterwards your troops will return to your castle (or to another place if
you were attacking from there by stationing them there first and
attacking from there)

Sieging targets ALL troops and traps present in the castle(or miracle
etc.) This will result in the capture of a city if successful. (no
resources ) However, it targets the stationed troops first, meaning the
attacking troops will first fight the defences and troops stationed, if
they win they will target the rest, if they lose the others remain
untouched.
Afterwards your troops will occupy the enemy.(DANGEROUS)

Raiding targets ONLY one of their stationed squads (random) and 1/3
of their defences. Successfully defeating the random squad yields
resources.
Afterwards your troops will return to your castle.
Advanced Tactics.
Now that youve mastered the previous parts lets look to Advanced
Tactics in a real war situation.
What do I do when someone is marching on me and I do not yet
have an epic defence hero?
Is a question I get a lot.
If theyre attacking: do nothing. Dont waste your attack troops by
stationing them, they wont be targeted.
If theyre sieging: Move your attack troops to a nearby
village/miracle/castle and wait for the siege to end, as soon as the
siege ends you know that the troops will station your location, and
assuming that the enemy is smart enough to use attack troops means
that they will be at a severe disadvantage when they have attack troops
stationed to defend your location. Use your attack troops to hit them
as soon as the siege ends. (March time should be included in the
calculation, for instance if a siege ends in 1 minute and your marching
time is 40 seconds you should target the location 35s prior to the
occupation (saving 5 seconds to be safe).
If its your own castle attack as soon as they occupy you.
How do I attack a castle?
Usually its smart to send in siege weaponary first, with or without an
epic hero siege weapons will do the job, they will destroy the wall and
archer tower, whilst the battle is going send in your troops.

Thats it for this guide, I know its a little short on the tactics but I do
not have time to finish it now, if you would like to write something in
it send me a message on line.
This is currently a work in progress, feel free to comment on
everything.
