I want my documentary from 3 Pointers to Spikes: the Mary Rotimi Story to be aired on
ESPN after 30 for 30 because they both tie into each other. The slot for the 30 for 30s is
categorized as ESPN Original Entertainment. My documentary is focused on the underdog story
of Coach Rotimi as she transitions from a hall of fame basketball player to Head Coach of
Panthers Volleyball. The best date and time for the documentary to air would be on October
27,2017 at 5:00 p.m. est. The reason being is because it gives families time to get off work and
relax with family and watch ESPN. The ESPN Network also has a section for womens sports
titled espnW on their website. The website would also be a great place to showcase the
documentary. Not a lot of female role models are showcased, sports are showcased as a male
dominated industry. I believe that this would show young aspiring female athletes that no matter
their gender we are all created equal.
