Lesson idea implementation:

Students will have already been introduced to PowerPoint, but not as a movie making software. The teacher
will have a complete movie about the life cycle of a frog that will act as a model for the students. Students will
choose to create their PowerPoint based on the examples in the standard. They can choose from mammals,
birds, amphibians, or insects. The PowerPoint will include a title page, the stages of the cycle, and an ending
page. To turn the PowerPoint into a movie, students will record their voices reading each slide out. Students
can add additional information when they are recording, but this information will need to be turned in as a
script.

Students will receive feedback during each step of the research and development of their project. They will be
monitored through peer reviewing and teacher conferences. Students will have two weeks to finish the
project and will have time each day to be able to research during reading stations and science time. At the
end of the two weeks, students will share their movies with the class and on the class blog. These movies can
also be shown to other classes and grades.
