In 1957 the newly formed Parndana Community came together to
create the Parndana Show. The aim was to create an event to
showcase the best Agriculture, Horticulture and Floriculture of the
new region.
Early on in the Parndana settlement history, it was in the process
of moving from the Parndana East campsite to the official
township of Parndana. Due to the moving process and the need
for a new venue, no official shows were held during 1964 and
1965.
The show since, has continued to thrive and grow to become an
annual family event for the Kangaroo Island community.
The Parndana Show Society would like to express its sincere
thanks and gratitude to everyone that has served as a committee
member, convenor, steward, judge or volunteer over the years.
Without such help our wonderful event would not be possible.
Also we give our gratitude to all businesses and persons that
have supported the society financially.
The Parndana Show Society would like to express our invitation to
attend our show in 2019, when we would be celebrating our 60th
show.
The Show Society will hold an entry day at the show pavilion,
Parndana on Saturday November 4th between 10am and 12pm.
Postal entries to be on official entry forms if possible, each person to
have separate forms, including name and address, childrens entry
forms to have parents name and can be posted to the secretary
P. O Box 62, Parndana, 5220 and must be available for collection on
Monday November 6th.
Phone entries are acceptable in most sections as are email entries. See
section pages for convenor contact information.
Some sections take entries on show day if placed before 9:30 am and
staged before judging.
All entries must be bona fide property of the exhibitor.
All exhibitors must place their entries in the space directed by the
convenor by 9:30am. Late entries will not be accepted.
No exhibits to be removed before 4pm.
The committee do not hold themselves responsible for loss or damage
to any exhibit.
Exhibits not claimed within 28 days will become the property of the
Society.
