Inception of our journey with DOMS

A journey of thousand miles start with a single step. So did ours, a huge defining step in our careers. As we were walking towards DOMS,
with every step excitement coupled with apprehensions increased. Adrenaline rushed. It was the best walk we have had in this high humid
weather till now. When we shifted our focus from the lush green campus to allow ourselves a generous look at all the new faces of our batch
girls I knew in my heart that this journey of thousand miles is not just going to be rigorous but also pleasant.
We were in our classes then, still no relief from the high humidity when we got the first sight of our professors of Department Of
Management Studies (DOMS). Prof.Nangia sir is the only face most of us could recognize as we were in his panel for the interview for
admission. It wasn’t long before he started introducing all the Professors. Then they gave a short introduction of themselves. Soon I realized
what all those big talks of IIT's Professors were all about.

and on the history of this prestigious institute and our first class in DOMS,IIT Roorkee had
come to an end. But we had to wait till the next day to know what some professors meant
when they said they expect every one to be on time for their classes.
So it had started, this journey of thousand miles on a crowded superfast highway filled
with so many exciting opportunities on either side and the suspense of the way ahead adding
excitement and thrill to it. By now we have convinced ourselves to make this journey exciting
as we all knew that sometimes it is not just the destination but also the journey that matters.

IITR, Roorkee - where our dream came alive
Rendezvous
I met that man passing by,
He said “hie”,I don’t know why,
A face so gentle, I had to reply,
He gazed in my eye, with a look of sly,
Then grabbed my hand, said “come by”,
To free myself, I didn’t even try……
We sat on a ply nearby,
He said “oh my child! Pacify”
You look so pale, tell me “why?”
Leave me alone, please don’t pry….
This was what, muttered I,
“Hey kiddo, don’t be shy,
We’ll work out, I don’t lie”
A look so serene, a heavenly smile,
I had to reply, couldn’t deny,
The desires none could satisfy

The world is mean, but I can’t die,
