Sustainable Development

Natural Environment
We are referring to the earths surface and atmosphere,
including various living organisms and non-living
organisms like air, water, soil and other resources to
sustain life.
Living organisms are biotic and non-living are abiotic.
There are 1.2 million different species living on earth,
most of them are insects and bacteria and five Kingdoms
which are associated with living organisms:
1. Bacteria
2. Protista
3. Funghi
4. Plants
5. Animals

Non-Living abiotic things/the Physical Environment:

1. water
2. air
3. soil/rocks
4. sunlight

All Non-Living and Living things need each other to sustain

their life and sustaining each other. Theyre
interdependent so they create an Ecosystem.
Ecosystem means we understand the interaction of all
living organisms and their natural environment in a
particular area-they make up one ecosystem, the Earth.
Ecosystem can be Micro
which means small and Macro which can be large.

Why do humans beings need the Environment?

1. To continue exploring future resources
2. To continue living a normal life, if we didnt have water
there would be no life from the use of biotic
environment
3. For better surroundings like trees etc from the use of
biotic environment
4. To grow fruits and vegetables with the use of soil, where
bacteria lives and plants grow from the use of biotic
environment
5. Natural resources like wood from the use of abiotic
environment
6. To grow houses from the use of abiotic environment
7. To make clothes from the use of abiotic environment

Bio-capital
Bio means life and Capital means money, so big
companies like McDonalds are making big money with the
use of the
Natural Environment.
