Write two lists entitled "What I Know" and "What I Don't Know about
my issue. Develop a list of possible resources that you could help you explore what you know and
find answers to what you dont know about your issue.

What I Know What I Dont Know

-Reform of the cash bail system is changing
rapidly
-Many Democrats agree with it
-Many Republicans agree as well
-Bipartisan bills are in the works
-The ACLU and many law schools have put
time and effort toward this goal
-At least 4 states have already made attempts
-New Jersey is the Poster Child
-Incarceration changes people for the worse
-The longer in the system the more damage
-Studies have been done that demonstrate it
-Can affect juveniles in detention centers
-How many states have attempted?
-How many states have succeeded?
-How close is Utah to reform?
-What each of their methods are?
-Statistics for how many people are currently
in jail unable to pay bail
-Statistics for psychological damage due to
time in prison
-Rates of recovery upon release
-Rates of re-offense after release for those
able versus unable to pay bail quickly
-Suicide rates for pretrial prisoners versus
post-trial prisoners
