Existed from 23 to 25 million years ago during the Miocene epoch. Its
name, meaning "before Consul" implies that it is ancestral to the
chimpanzee. Proconsul monkey-like features include pronograde
postures, indicated by a long flexible back, and curved metacarpals
Sivapithecus

Sivapithecus lived 19 million years ago. It was only

a small-to-medium-sized ape, about the size of a
modern chimpanzee. It had a similar facial
structure to the Orangutang. .
Ouranopithecus http://www.prehistoric-wildlife.com/species/o/ouranopithecus.html

Ouranopithecus lived 16 million years ago. Ouranopithecus is an

extinct genus of the Eurasian great ape. Ouranopithecus had low
molar teeth which had a thick covering of enamel. Ouranopithecus
had a heavy diet consisting of hard foods items such as nuts and/or
tubers.
Dryopithecus https://www.britannica.com/topic/Dryopithecus

Dryopithecus lived 14 million years ago. Dryopithecus was about 4ft

or (1.2m) tall. Dryopithecus was a distant Miocene forerunner of
chimpanzees. The dryopithecines probably inhabited forested areas.
The canine teeth are larger than those in humans
but not as strongly developed as those in other
living apes.
Chimpanzee Today Pan www.awf.org/wildlife-conservation/chimpanzee

Chimpanzee today are humans closest living ancestors. They share 98%
of human DNA. Chimpanzees today are omnivores. This means they eat
both plants and animals. They are very intelligent beings and can learn
things very fast. Chimpanzees today live Southern Senegal across the
forested belt north of the Congo River to Western Uganda and Western
Tanzania.
