Section A. Define the following vocabulary (6 pts):

1. Alignment

Alignment are commands that let you format how the text is displayed across cells vertically and

horizontally.

2. Drop down arrow

The drop down arrow is next to the command that you want to use. It shows you a variety of

different options for that certain command.

3. Accounting number format

The accounting number format is the ability to format numbers and dates in several ways.

Section B. Explain how to do the following (9 pts):

1. Add a border to one cell of multiple cells:

Select the cells you want to add a border t. Then click the border command to select the border

you want for your cell.

2. Add a fill color to cells:

To fill color to cells, select the cells you want to modify. Click the drop-down arrow next to fill

color. Then a color menu appears. Then select the color you want to use.
Section C. Critical Thinking (6pts):

1. What is the default alignment for numbers and letters in a cell?

The default alignment for numbers and letters in a cell is the numbers align to the bottom right of

the cells, while letters align to the bottom left of the cell.

2. Describe a situation in which knowing how to format the alignment of text in a cell would be

valuable.

A situation in which you would want to know how to format the alignment of text in a cell would

be valuable is when you want to align your title in the center of your cell.
