PREFACE
CHAPTER NUMBERING
Chapters are numbered within the sections by numbers such as: 7.1, meaning
Section 7, Chapter 1, or 10.2 meaning Section 10, Chapter 2. The page
numbers are of the form 7.1-1, 7.1-2, 7.1-3....... or 10.2-1, 10.2-2, 10.2-3....
and so on.
UPDATES
From time to time you will receive updates as sections are changed or new
machines are released into this manual.
REVISION RECORD
The Revision Record following the main Contents pages, gives a list of all the
pages in the manual and their revision dates. You can use this list to check that
you have all the current pages in the correct order.
DATES ON PAGES
When new chapters are issued to the manual the pages do not have a date on
them. If those pages are subsequently revised, then they will have the print
date of the update at the foot. An update package can, therefore, have a
mixture of new (undated) and revised (dated) pages.
YOUR COMMENTS
Your contributions to the manual are very much appreciated. If you find an
error, or you would like something included, you can let us know by sending
in the Readers Comment Form from the back of the manual, or, you can write
directly to:
You can also send in your comments via the Internet. You will find a

INTRODUCTION
CONTENTS
Introduction
This manual is designed to provide complete identification of all parts which
may be replaced in the unit. The following listing conventions are used
throughout the manual to provided accuracy and ease of use.
A parts chart consists of three columns. The first column is the reference
number identifying the part in the illustration. The second column is the part
number, and the third column is the part name.
MULTIPLE VIEWS
INDENTIFICATION OF ASSEMBLIES
The name of each major assembly in this unit is listed in the index on the
following page. The name of the assembly is also centered as a title above the
illustration of the assembly. Complete identification of an assembly, including
the 10-digit number assigned to it, is included as the first line in the parts
chart. The entry for the complete assembly is not identified by a reference
letter.
REFERENCES TO INDEX
Some assemblies shown on the illustration are called out with no 10-digit
number listed and a reference made to the Index. This indicates that there is a
further breakdown of the assemblyon another page of the manual. Example:
Occasionally, the 10 digit number is given and also a reference is made to the
Index. In this case, the 10-digit number is given as a means of identifying a
particular assembly when there are other assemblies that are similar but not
interchangeable. Example:
Indented parts lists identify subassemblies and their parts when they are
included within a larger assembly. Indented parts lists are recoginzed by one
or more bullets(.) preceding the part name, and the reference callouts being a
combination of numeric and alphabetic characters. This indicate that the
indented item is part of the preceding assembly, but can be ordered and
replaced seperately. This applies regardless of the number of indentations.
Example:
The preceding example shows that the Gear Assembly(Ref. 4) comes with the
Gear (Ref. 4A) and Hub Assembly (Ref. 4B) assembled. The Hub Assembly
has the Hub (Ref. 4B1) and Bearing (Ref. 4B2) assembled. Any one of the
parts can be ordered seperately. The letter in parentheses at the end of an
assembly name is used by the Technical Publications Department in updating
the manual.
iv JULY 2000
INTRODUCTION
Generally, all the parts shown on a drawing are part of the assembly rep-
resented by the part name and 10-digit number in the first line of the parts
chart. (Refer to Identification of Assemblies mentioned previously in the
Introduction) Occasionally, it is expedient to add miscellaneous parts to a
drawing which are not part of the assembly. These parts are identified by a
alpha/numeric reference reference with the alpha character Z Example:
Z1 000-0000000 Screw
Z2 000-0000001 Nut
