GRATITUDE AND SELF-ACCEPTANCE ON ORPHANAGE

ADOLESCENTS

This research is aimed to test empirically relationship between gratitude and self-
acceptance on orphanage adolescents . The measuring instruments used in this
research is self-acceptance scale from Kusuma (2012) as modified by the researchers
based on the theory Shereer (Badria and Astuti 2004) and gratitude Kusuma scale
(2012) as modified by the researchers based on Al-Munajjid (2006) and Al-Jauziah
(2006) aspects.
The hypothesis of this study is positive relationship between gratitude variables
and self-acceptance on orphanage adolescents. The data obtained in this study were
analyzed using analytical techniques and product moment correlation from Karl
Pearson were used to examine the relationship between variables. The results showed
that there was positive correlation between gratitude and self-acceptance (r= 0,000
and p<0,05) with variables contribution gratitude on self-acceptance of 42,6%. The
another results indicated no difference in the level of gratitude and self-acceptance
which is reviewed based on age and gender.
