CT STUDY OF HEAD

Posterior Fossa

Fourth ventricle is normal in size and midline in location.

Cerebellar parenchyma and brain stem appears to be normal.

Supratentorial

Large hypodense area is seen in left fronto-temporo-parieto-occipital


region .Small hypodense areas are seen in left basal ganglionic and
right centrum semiovale regions. No evidence of fresh bleed is seen.

Calcified foci are seen in bilateral temporal and left frontal region.

Cortical sulci are prominent on right side .

Basal cisterns are seen normally.

Third and both lateral ventricles are prominent.

No midline shift is seen.

OPINION:

LARGE LEFT M.C.A AND P.C.A TERRITORY INFARCTION.


LEFT BASAL GANGLIONIC AND RIGHT CENTRUM SEMIOVALE INFARCTS.
DIFFUSE CEREBRAL ATROPHY .

Clinical correlation is necessary.
