CT STUDY OF HEAD

Posterior Fossa

Cerebellopontine angle and prepontine cisterns are seen normally.

Fourth ventricle is normal in size and midline in location.

Cerebellar parenchyma and brain stem appears to be normal.

Supratentorial

Hypodense areas are seen in left basal ganglionic, left occipital and
left fronto-parietal regions .No evidence of fresh bleed is seen.

Cortical sulci are prominent.

Basal cisterns are seen normally.

Third and both lateral ventricles are dilated [ left > right ] .

No midline shift is seen.

OPINION:

LEFT BASAL GANGLIONIC, LEFT OCCIPITAL AND FRONTO-PARIETAL INFARCTS OF


DIFFERENT AGES .
DIFFUSE CEREBRAL ATROPHY .

Clinical correlation is necessary.
