ABSTRACT

TEJA SENDANG, 2017: The implementation of visual media assisted for

inquiry learning model to improve science learning outcome of fifthh graders at
class V-B at SDN 042 Tarakan (Supervised by Dr. Suyadi, S.S., M.Ed)
This study is aimed to improve student learning outcomes using visual
media assisted for inquiry learning model on natural science subject in fith grade
at SDN 042 Tarakan in the year of 2017/2018. This research is Classroom Action
Research. This research was conducted from July 24 to August 12, 2017 consisted
of three cycles, each cycle consists of two meetings.
The subjects of this study are fifth graders at class V-B SDN 042
Tarakan in the year of 2017/2018 with 31 students. This study is focused on
studying students learning outcome on science learning after taught using visual
media assisted for inquiry learning model. On each cycle, observation and the
result of learning outcome test has been collected.
There is increasing on the number of students who achieved the
minimum KKM before and after teaching and learning process on the first cycle,
which is from 43% to 45,17%, then on the second cycle it improves into 77,41%,
and finally on the third cycle improves into 87,09%. This improvement shows that
student activities during teaching and learning process using visual media assisted
for inquiry learning model is helpful for improving student achievement in each
cycle.
From the affective aspect, the success indicator of students that achieve
good grades has exceeded 75%. This result can be seen from the last data of the
second meeting on the third cycle, in which there are 15 students achieve very
good category and there are 16 students achieve good category. On the
psychomotoric aspect, there are 31 students that achieve very good category. In
addition, on teacher activity, it also achieves very good category with mean score
is 86 on the third cycle.
