Career expectations have been a means to discuss what an individual wants for
his/her workplace in the future. However, changing times means changing career choices.
The phenomenon of varied career expectations from different age groups is rampant
across the world, and this has gained significance to experts with the aim to further
understand future employees and workers. The study aimed to compare the level of the
career expectations of Senior High School and College students, as well as their
demographic profile. This research employed a descriptive-correlational design. Two-
hundred eighty six students responded to the survey questionnaires. Based on the
findings, it was concluded that students have high career aspirations, with great
preference on promotions, control of work, and time for leisure. But in comparison, the
study found out that college students have lower expectations than those from the senior
high school. The findings were sources of information for the awareness of the
phenomenon of varying aspirations across different age groups. Additionally, the results
can be used by businesses and school administrations in monitoring the preferences of
students as they become employees in the future. Moreover, the findings can guide
students about choosing a career, and they can be more sentient of how these choices
impact them.
