WHAT SO-WHAT ANALYSIS:

What happened?
YJ Ltd is a UK based company whih was listed in AIM on Jan, 2007.
SWOT ANALYSIS:

Strengths:
One of the strengths of Y & J Company is that they have a motived workforce. Their
employees are committed and satisfied with their jobs. The top level and middle level
management are the expertise in their particular fields.
Their investors are happy with them because they are good in paying dividends.
The track record of the company from starting explorations and ending it by bringing
the wells in production is good.
Ullan shah is optimistic and is good in decision making. Understands what the
company need at this time.
Weakness:
At current Y & J don't have the financial capability to bring new projects for test drilling.
CFO is sick and not experienced to be fit for the work for about a month.
They are not performing the work by themselves. They are outsourcing the work from
other companies.
Opportunities:
There geologists has searched and find out new wells locations around the world.
They have had the trust of their shareholders and its the best time to make investment.
Price of the share of Y & J increased after news that they got the license of new wells.
THREATS:
The projects they are staring is a bit too risky and as the bank of England has refused
to give loans to Y & J for their new project, they are facing problem in rising the
investment.
The current CEO of Y & J is a risk taker. Which is creating extra risk for the company.
As terrorist activities are increasing day by day especially UN artisan and Asian threat
nations and as we know these are potential target countries for Y & J where they
operate mostly. Hence it is a potential threat for their business and organization.
PEST ANALYSIS:

POLYTICAL FACTOR:
Y&J is a multinational company and it has been working in 3
different parts of world. But the government of England is effecting them the most.
As they have to make negotiations with the governments of different mind sets and
having different rules and regulations. They have to make them all happy at the same
time.
They have expertise in their top level managements to deal with such situations.

ECONOMICAL FACTOR:
In oil and gas industry, the change in prices only occurs when
there is a fluctuation in the international market.
As y&j is a multinational company so it is effected by the economy of the areas they are
working in.
They are executing their transactions in dollars so their economy is highly concerned
with the value of dollars.

SOCIAL FACTOR:
Y&J company are very good at taking care of their shareholders, so
that they (shareholder) are also very happy with them.
They are always involved in CSR activities whenever they start there explorations and
productions activities at the same specific location.
Health, safety and environmental issues are firmly placed at top of Y&Js objectives.
Y&J wishes to ensure that it actively prepares and manages the risks it faces hostile
and difficult environments in which it operates.
Y&J has the workforce that is trained enough to work in the areas which are accident
prevention which can do significant loss to the organisations.

TEHNOLOGICAL FACTORS:
According to the researches, oil industry has stated that
there are only 40 years of proven reserves. But according to latest technology there is
expected to be ability to extract more oil from the known reserves.
In technology aspects, Y&J has also looking for the technology to increase the reserves
of their wells.
Y&J is highly based on technology from starting the surveys till the end to bring a well
into production. They are using different information systems for different purposes.
Y&J gets its most of the exploration and production activities done by outsourcing.
The work of conducting surveys that is part of exploration is done by Y&J own
workforce.
Outsourcing is beneficial for them as they can heir the parties having latest technical
tools for production. But its comparatively costly too.
