Welcome to the Introduction to

Information Literacy Course

Overall goal:
The overall goal of instruction is to equip you with the ability to find, retrieve, organize,
analyze and use information and to effectively apply it to all undertakings in all curricular
areas.

What you are expected to learn during this course:

Module 1 Objectives:State course objectives and explain

the research process.
1. Identify the steps in conducting online research.
2. List the attributes to look for evaluating a website for
use for research.
3. Describe valid source that can be used for research.

Module 2 Objectives:Perform Research using the topic The Holocaust

1. Examine and apply strategies to extract relevant information using the 5Ws of inquiry(who, what, when, where, and
why)from short passages and video of the Holocaust.
2. Recall details from passages to make inferences.
3. Notate the cause and effects of events that took place
during the Holocaust.
4. Use inferences to better understand and answer
questions pertaining to information gathered from
research of the Holocaust.

Module 3 Objectives:Explain how to develop a timeline and set up an online program to organize information in a pictogram.

1. Define and understandthe terms chronology, sequence,
timeline and pictograph.
2. Organize events in chronological order.
3. Identify the main events from information collected.
4. Create a Piktochart account.
5. Explain how to access online tutorials for Piktochart
