Youth Programs Staff


Community and Development Services Recreation Complex

Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager of Recreation or Designate, the Youth Programs Staff is responsible for
planning, implementing and supervising a safe recreational experience for children of various ages.

Specific Duties:
Planning, implementation, and supervision of various recreation experiences for children
ages 4-13.
Ensure safety on the site while carrying out planned activities.
Organize and promote special event/theme days.
Maintain program records, equipment, supplies and general upkeep.
Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Recreation or Designate.

Qualifications:
HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development preferred.
Valid Standard First Aid and C.P.R. Level C, AED required.
Education: Secondary School or University/College level interest in recreation or child care
related field (i.e. Human Kinetics, ECE or Recreation).
Past experience working in youth programs and or with children.

Hours of Work:
Hours of work will vary each week to a maximum of 24 hours. (Hours subject to exceptions).
Evening and weekend shifts are required.

Employee Group:
Part-time, Non-union.

Salary:
$12.85 to $14.13 per hour (2017 Rates).
