GENERAL COURSE INFORMATION: Intelligent Business is a

practical course for studying business topics and terminology.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
In this class you will enlarge your business vocabulary and develop skills
in reading and understanding business texts.

REQUIREMENTS: You will have both in-class and at-home

assignments.
Class time will be divided among group discussion of reading texts,
comprehension exercises, reading skills exercises, vocabulary
development exercises and career skills. All students are expected to
come to class prepared and ready to work. You will need to actively
participate in all class activities.

ATTENDANCE:
Attendance and participation at class sessions are essential to the purpose
of the course. Absences will affect your grade. If you cannot attend a
class, it is your responsibility to remain current with class assignments.
You must complete any classwork and homework assignments you
missed. Entering or exiting the classroom during class is disturbing to

other students and offensive to the instructor. It is to be avoided except in

the most extraordinary circumstances.
EVALUATION:
You will receive a grade of 5 (100-90%),
4 (89.9-75%)
3 (60-74.9%)
2 (less than 60%).
In computing your grade, the total of the course components are weighted
as follows:
Unit Tests, Review Tests, Progress Tests 60 %
Participation 40%
