Step-by-Step Guide

1. Create and activate a sandbox


2. Navigate to New Person
3. Select the action to Hire an Employee
4. Enter a US legal employer, Last Name, and navigate to the Person Information train stop
5. Select "Customize Pages" from the user menu at the Site level and set the View to Source
6. Click on the Veteran Self-Identification Status and confirm that you want to edit
7. In the source code, scroll up and select the descriptiveFlexfield and Edit. Click on the Flexfield
Context Segments, select Context Value of US and Segment Code of Veteran_Self_Identification.
Set the Required property to true.

8. Click on Apply and OK.


9. In order to see the changes, switch to Design mode, and navigate back to the Identification train
stop, then navigate forward to the Person Information train stop. This forces the page to
refresh and the page composer personalization to be initialized. You will observe that the
Veteran Self-Identification Status to be required. Enter a value.
10. Switch to Source mode.
11. Click on the Veteran Self-Identification Status and confirm that you want to edit
12. In the source code, scroll up and select the descriptiveFlexfield and Edit. Click on the Flexfield
Context Segments, select Context Value of US and Segment Code of VETS4212_DISABLED. Set
the Rendered property to false.
13. Click on Apply and OK.
14. In order to see the changes, switch to Design mode, and navigate back to the Identification train
stop, then navigate forward to the Person Information train stop. This forces the page to
refresh and the page composer personalization to be initialized. You will observe that the
Disabled Veteran is no longer shown.
15. Repeat steps 10 14 for each of the segments that you want to be hidden.
16. Close the page composer and thoroughly test the personalizations.
