OBJECTIVE: To promote awareness of Foster Farms Corn Dogs to the SoCal consumer

CURRENT LANDSCAPE
The Corn Dog C Space report revealed that SoCaL consumers maintain healthy eating
habits with occasional indulgences. Consumers want to see more of the following kinds of
posts from food brands:

Promotions/contests
Charitable work/donations
Social causes

In addition, consumers reacted positively to humorous Foster Farm Corn Dog posts but
consider corn dogs to be unhealthy and only for kids. Foster Farms has an opportunity to
position corn dogs as a nostalgic, childhood favorite that can be enjoyed as an occasional
treat. Weve decided to draft concepts that invoke nostalgia and childhood memories.
CONCEPT 1 | POP CULTURE

THROWBACK/#TBT

Incorporate throwback posts that


highlight pop culture from 1980s
and 90s. Recreate popular concepts
using personified corn dogs, or
insert corn dogs within photos of
popular icons. Visual concepts will
include parodies on childhood
shows, popular dances, songs, slang
terms, trivia, trends, fashion, etc.

BENEFIT:
SoCal consumers are at the
forefront of pop culture trends and
have a strong vested interest in
entertainment, events and shows.
The campaign naturally fits within
the habits and trends of the SoCal
consumer.

Recreate authentic family photos using


corn dog people. This parodies popular
family photo remakes often found in
social media.

Insert corn dogs in old family photos to


create nostalgia and humor.

This concept would require Foster Farms


staff to contribute personal photos that
they are willing to have altered with corn
dog images and shared on social media.

BENEFIT

Historically, humorous posts and authentic


photos of people perform the strongest on
Foster Farms digital channels. This concept
combines the best of both post styles,
creating a higher probability of audience
engagement.
