to take part in series of events spread over a course of 3-4 days that test the vehicle for the

sound
engineering practices that have gone into it, the agility of the vehicle in terms of gradability, speed,
acceleration and maneuverability characteristics and finally its ability to endure that back breaking
durability test. The event has spanned across six countries USA, Mexico, South Africa, Korea, Brazil
and India

They are flexible

The name itself specifies that it is an All Terrain Vehicle, meaning it can be
driven almost on all surfaces including concrete roads, desert areas,
rugged terrain, grasslands, etc. ATVs are designed to handle all types of
roads and their problems like bumps, dips, hills, etc. They are designed to
give the convenience of driving around everywhere and reaching even
remotest areas inaccessible by other vehicles, which is their best benefit.

ATVs are built for resistance to various road stresses, and hence have
tough bodies designed to work well on rough, mountainous ranges as well
as smooth roads. Border Patrolling, Farming, and other agricultural
activities benefit greatly from ATVs and their tough, versatile and rugged
mechanisms
The goal is to design and build a prototype off-road vehicle. It is intended for sale to the
non-professional weekend off-road enthusiast. Participating in these events give you an
upper hand by gaining real-world, industry experience.

BAJA SAE is a benchmark in automotive engineering events conducted by SAE, where

university students can use their knowledge in practice by designing and building an
ATV buggy. Future engineers work together as a team to design, test, and
manufacture. BAJA SAE also gives students the first-hand challenge of pursuing their
passion while managing real-life demands and priorities. The goal is to design and build
a prototype off-road vehicle. It is intended for sale to the non-professional weekend off-
road enthusiast. Participating in these events give you an upper hand by gaining real-
world, industry experience.

From the January 2016 issue

You may not be surprised to hear that cars do not spring all shiny and dew-studded
from beneath lily pads, ready to hit the road. In fact, the car-creation odyssey makes
NASAs Journey to Mars program seem like a Caribbean luxury cruise. While we
frequently address elements of the design and development process on this page, this
is the first time weve presented the entire start-to-finish plan; this years 10Best
celebration seemed like the perfect time and place to do so. One domestic and one
import manufacturerboth requesting anonymity for competitive reasonshelped
compile this guide to how cars are made.
We gathered related tasks under five headings.

The time required is the most interesting and secretive part of a cars gestation; a
crash program to replace a dead-on-its-wheels product may take only half the time
invested in a normal, full-redesign effort.

In our illustrations, the clock begins when the generals gather to spur their troops to
action. The end is when the new model reaches showrooms. On average, the entire
process takes 72 months. Theres overlap to save time, as revealed by the start and
finish months listed in each of the five category headings. After-sale activities
including service issues, continuous improvement, and midlife face liftsare not
included in this account. Thats for another 10Best.
