SCHEDULING PROCEDURES FOR THE AMC CLINICAL EXAMINATION:

The scheduling of candidates into particular venues is done immediately after the closing date of each series.
Candidates will be notified if they have been successful at gaining a clinical position, approximately 10 days after the
closing date for the series for which they applied.

Candidates should note that, where the number of applications for clinical examination places in a specific
examination series exceeds the availability of examination places, scheduling will be on a priority basis along the
following lines:

 First attempt candidates will have priority over repeat attempt candidates.
 The scheduling of first attempt clinical candidates will take into consideration the time since they sat and
qualified at the MCQ examination.
 Candidates will be ranked in merit order based on their overall score in the MCQ examination.
 Candidates with fewer repeat attempts will have priority over candidates with a higher number of repeat
attempts.

Candidates who have been scheduled for a clinical examination may not lodge an application for another Series
before they have received the results of the scheduled examination.

For further information on scheduling procedures, candidates should refer to the current edition of the AMC booklet
Examination Specifications Clinical Supplement.

EXAMINATION FEES:

Do not send the examination fee with the Form C-2. The examination fees for the clinical examinations will be
payable when a candidate has been scheduled for the relevant examination session. Payment for the Clinical
Examination can only be received once a position has been offered in the examination which will happen two weeks
after the closing date of the series that has been applied for.

For current examination fees, please refer to the AMC website: http://www.amc.org.au

If you are successful in obtaining a position in the clinical examination please note the following withdrawal fees apply:

Withdrawal prior to closing date for payment....................................................................................................................100% refund

Withdrawal after acceptance of allocation to a session of the examination .......................................................................50% refund
Withdrawal after venue notice for a session of the examination sent to candidate............................................................... no refund

The AMC will send the booklet, Examination Specifications Clinical Supplement, along with your receipt once the
examination fee has been paid.

Information for Special Friday Examinations

Due to limitations on the availability of suitable clinical examination venues, Australian Medical Council clinical examinations are
conducted on specified Saturdays throughout the year.

The AMC is aware that this scheduling of clinical examinations may create difficulties for some candidates due to religious
convictions. Candidates who believe that they fall into this category should contact the clinical examinations section of the AMC
concerning alternative arrangements for scheduling of clinical examinations in such cases. As alternative venues are very limited,
applicants for special consideration in scheduling will be required to submit documentary evidence in support of their case for
special scheduling.
