Huawei RTN 980/950 QoS activation

1 Introduction
This document outlines the method of procedure to setup QOS over Huawei RTN links
(980/950) using DSCP scheduling policing, assigned to ISX boards (Air interface ports).

2 Method
1. Open related NE Explorer on U2000 (right click over NE icon and then click NE explorer)

2. Open WRR Scheduling Policy on the Function Tree. (Function Tree > Configuration > QoS
Management > Policy Management > WRR Scheduling Policy), then click on New to create a new
WRR policy. Check Assign automatically box, set Policy Name to Scheduling
Policy, assign weights as per capture below and Apply.

3. Open Port Policy on the Function Tree. (Function Tree > Configuration > QoS Management > Policy
Management > Port Policy)

4. Click on New to create a new Port Policy. Check Assign automatically box, set
Policy Name to DSCP Policing, Select WRR Scheduling Policy by clicking on
and selecting the policy created on step 2 eg: 2-Scheduling Policy; CoS values are by
default, and then click Apply.

5. Click on the Traffic Classification Configuration tab and Click on New to specify
DSCP bits mapping.

6. On the pop-up window, add the 8 traffic classification IDs using the table below. Set
the values and Click Apply for each setup. Once finished click OK.

7. Once all the values have been entered they will be shown as below. Click Apply

8. Click on the Application Object tab and click on Modify. On the new window select
the ISX2 board where policy will be applied. Select the port from the Available Ports
list, Click >> to move it over to the Selected Ports list and then Apply.

Note: If the ISX2 card belongs to a Physical Link Aggregation group select the main board only
eg: if 3 and 5 ISX2 cards are on a PLA select ISX2 card 3 only .

9. Open Diffserv Domain Management on the Function Tree. (Function Tree > Configuration > QoS
Management > Diffserv Domain Management > Diffserv Domain Management), then Click on the
Application Object tab and click on Modify. On the pop-up window select the ISX2
board, select the port (Same port configured on step 8) and from the Packet Type
drop down menu select IP-DSCP and then Apply. This will preserve the DSCP bits
mapping towards the outbound mapping.
