Government System of Sudan

Background

In 1989, Sudan was taken over by a


military coup that disbanded political

parties and established Islamic Law in
the country. This began the Civil War,
and by 1993, Sudan was ruled as an
Islamic totalitarian government. In
2011, South Sudan successfully seceded
and an autonomous government of
Sudan Sudan was formed. Former
United Sudan is now a presidential
republic.
