Why: Con artists are targeting Americans age 60 and older, swindling more than
7 million Americans out of almost $3 billion each year.
At other forums across the state, local residents have come forward to
report fraud and state agencies have opened investigations. Attendees
have been very vocal and heroic in sharing scams with government
agencies, attendees and media.
By covering and reporting on this Iowa Fraud Fighters forum, media will
have the opportunity to educate and empower more Iowans who were
unable to attend this forum.
