ADJECTIVES WITH ED / ING

The endings "-ed" and "-ing" are not only used to form the verb tenses
of the past and present continuous, they are also used with adjectives.
these adjectives are composed of a verb and these two endings, but
keep in mind that the meaning changes depending on which termination
is used.

ADJECTIVES WITH ED
Adjectives that end in "-ed" indicate or
describe emotions. These adjectives
usually end in "-ado" or "-ido" in Spanish
and go after the verb "estar".

John is interested in art.

Examples: Denise was bored in class


Luke is excited about his new job.
I feel bored by watching this movie.
I am interested in learning english.
Mike and kate are excited about their
trip to Europe.
ADJECTIVES WITH ING

Adjectives that end in "-ing" indicate or describe a characteristic of


something or someone. Unlike adjectives that end in ("-ed"), there is no
rule in Spanish to form these adjectives and they go after the verb "to Examples:

The class was boring so Denise fell asleep
Luke started an exciting new job.
This movie is boring.
I think that learning english is interesting
Planning a trip to Europe is exciting.
