Head injuries are the most common cause of death and permanent disability after an accident.
Severe head injuries occured in almost 50% of all head injury, resulting in a wider disruption,
more fatal disorders. This research aims to know the duration of incidence and transportation
relation with the predicted mortality in patients with severe head injury. Design Retrospective
cohort study was conducted in the month of July to December 2016. The samples are 46 samples.
This study used total population. Severe head injury determined by clinical and CT scan,
prediction of mortality was measured by Revised Trauma Score based complete medical records.
There data were analyzed using Spearman Rank (Rho) with significant = 0,05. The result of the
test statistics in get p score 0.000 use with = 0,05 so if has a relation between duration of
incidence and transportation with the prediction of mortality in patients with severe head injury in
emergency departments at dr Iskak Tulungagung hospital 2017. Score of duration in incidence
coefficient correlation with the predicted mortality with patients severe head injuries is r = .548,
and transport r = .572. In this research, we can find or a significant relation between duration of
incidence and transportation with the predicted mortality in patients with severe head injury in
emergency departments at dr Iskak Tulungagung hospital 2017. This study recommends the
importance of health workers to further improve the handling and maintain strict supervision of
patients with severe head injury to reduce death of the patient.
