CLOCHETTE is an elegant bonnet with a brim. It is crocheted beginning with

the border which is worked flat. The stitches for the body of the hat are picked
up on the brim and crocheted in the round to the top of the hat.
- US crochet terms are in green and UK crochet terms are in black.
- Every round begins with a ch 1, it does not count as a stitch.
- Every round ends with a slip stitch into the first dc/ tc, skip the ch 1.
- When beginning the next round, pick your hook into the first dc/tc and
skip the ch 1.

Depending on your taste, you can vary the edge of the band. This border begins
on the last row of the band, continues along the curved side of the reverse and
finally on the cast-on row.
Crochet just one row (in sc/dc) with a contrasting yarn (Yellow
CLOCHETTE).
Crochet a row in crab st (Pink CLOCHETTE).
Crochet a shells border (Blue CLOCHETTE) :
- 1 shell= 3 dc/tc, separate with a sc
- Work 3 shells on the first short side of the band, 1 on the corner, all
along the curved edge, 1 on the next corner, then 3 on the second short
side.

Body of the hat :

Bring the short edges of the band together with the wrong side facing
out, edge to edge for the yellow and pink CLOCHETTE. If you used
the shell edging, the shells should overlap (blue CLOCHETTE)

Pick up dc/ tc 66 tightly along the inside edge of the brim. Now
crochet in the round. You can pick up Dc/tc 2 tog a few times in this
rnd to avoid holes.

Pick up dc tightly together to avoid holes and keep elasticity from

the edge of the hat

Crochet 6 rounds of dc/ tc.

Crown of the hat :

1) *dc/ tc in next 4 dc/tc, dc/ tc 2 tog in next dc/ tc* repeat to the end of
the rnd.
2) * dc/ tc in next 3 dc/ tc, dc/ tc 2 tog in next dc/ tc* repeat to the end of
the rnd.
