Purpose: Students will be able to vocally perform the dotted-eighth sixteenth (tim-ka) pattern
while engaging in varied movement.

Procedure:
I) Learning the Song
a. T: Listen for the word that is repeated in this song.
b. Teacher sings first stanza and takes answers
c. T: Listen for the phrase thats repeated
d. Teacher sings again and takes answers
e. T: This time hum and keep a steady beat.
f. Teacher sings and students hum, both keep steady beat
g. Everyone sings first stanza and keeps a steady beat
II) Learning the dance
a. Stand up and demonstrate movement for first stanza (walk in, walk out)
b. Everyone sing and move
c. T: Watch and see whats different
d. Demonstrate and sing second stanza (Going to the right now)
e. Take answers on movement and singing
f. Everyone sing and dance second stanza together
g. T: Watch and see whats different
h. Demonstrate and sing third stanza (Going to the left now)
i. Take answers on movement and singing
j. Everyone sing and dance third stanza together
k. T: Watch and see whats different
l. Demonstrate and sing fourth stanza (Swingin round your partner)
m. Take answers on movement and singing
n. Everyone sing and dance fourth stanza together
o. Everyone review full song and go over dance moves
p. Sing and dance full song

Assessment: Listen to hear that students are singing the dotted-eighth sixteenth pattern accurately
while dancing.
