Home Learning
Home Learning is explained and given
out each Thursday and is due back the
following Tuesday. Home Learning is
placed in their Home Learning books
and put into their trays.
The home learning can be completed
practically with the use of photos or
parents writing in what their child has
said.
Over the coming half term we will be
starting to send out phonics activities.
These will support the phonics lessons
your child does in school each day.
Reception Curriculum
The topic for this half term is animals.
The children will be learning about
animals from different habitats, animals
and their young and exploring a vet
role-play area.
Reminders
Please make sure your child has a named
water bottle in school.
Also, due to some children having nut
allergies, please make sure there are no
nuts in your childs lunchbox.
Reading
Each child learns at a different rate and
the children entered school with different
levels of previous phonics knowledge. The
children who are beginning to blend
sounds together to form words will start to
receive reading books. These reading
books are specifically designed to support
your childs reading using their phonics
knowledge. As soon as we feel your child is
ready they will receive a book. Please do
not worry if your child does not receive a
book straight away.
We change the reading books on
Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
PE
In Reception the children will have their PE
lesson on a Tuesday afternoon. Please
ensure your child has their PE kit and that
each item of clothing is clearly labelled.
