As mid-term is approaching, now is the time to reflect on the

6th October: Offalys first Rose of Tralee, Jennifer Byrne visited St.
Philomenas. She was welcomed by her Rose bud, Jade Bergin-Dwyer
who did a great job bringing Jennifer around to all the classes.
Jennifer spoke to the girls about her work as a doctor and as the
Rose. She answered lots of questions, listened to songs and music,

classes visited the Sacred Heart school where they had a most
enjoyable Art workshop.
25th October: 10 girls from Third and Fourth Class attended a camogie
blitz in the new Faithful Fields in Kilcormac. They played very well and
had a great time. Thanks to Ms. O Meara for accompanyng the girls.
The Cumann na mBunscol Football matches have all been played. The
girls played really well and always gave their
best.Thanks to Ms. Corrigan and Ms. Marron for
training the girls.
Mid-term break is from Monday 30th October to Friday 3rd November.
School re-opens on Monday November 6th.
Parent/Teacher meetings will take place on Wednesday 15 th of
November. Times will be arranged closer to the day. School will finish
at 2.45p.m. on the day.

St. Philomenas N.S. is taking part in the shoebox appeal again this
year. If you would like to donate a shoebox, you may still do so as soon
as we return from the mid-term break.

Thanks to Ms. Kenny for creating a ghostly atmosphere in the school

by decorating our corridors which are looking very spooky for
Halloween.
