MMFIintegration:Aconceptualunderstanding

NowweknowhowMMandFIareintegratedandhowtheaccountdetermination
happens.Ifwewanttotestinventoryaccountdetermination,neitheryouneedtodo
actualmaterialpostinginthesystemnorgothroughmasterdataandcustomization
toidentifytheaccounts.SAPhasdeliveredaccountdeterminationsimulationtool.

Thishelpstofindhowanaccountisdeterminedwhilepostingstockrelated
transactions.Wejustneedtoinputplant,material,movementtypeandselectthe
transactionwewouldliketochecksayGRforpurchaseorder,GRforprocess
orderetc.Basedonaboveinputs,systemwouldreadcustomization,masterdata
andsimulatetheaccountdeterminationprocess.Apartfromabove,systemwould
alsoidentifymissingaccountassignmentsforagiventransaction.Thiswould
furtherhelptoanalyzeissuesinaneasymanner.

GotoTcodeOMWBandclosetheinitialpopup.ClickonSimulationbutton.

Fillinplant,material,movementtypeandenter.Transactionlistwouldbe
automaticallyrefreshedbasedonthemovementtype.Doubleclickon
requiredtypeoftransactiontobecheckedsayGRandclickonAccount
assignments.
Innextscreen,wecanseethelistofallavailabletransactionspossiblefor
thismovementtype,plantandmaterialcombination.Somefieldslike
materialtype,valuationclassetc.arederivedfrommaterialmasterdata.
Somefieldslikevaluationarea,valuationgroupingcodeetc.arederived
fromcustomizationoftheplant.
Inthisscreen,wecanseewhatallaccountsaredeterminedfordifferentkind
oftransactions.

EG:ForInventoryposting,youcanseeDebit/Creditpostingkeysand
respectiveG/Laccounts.Ifthereareanymissingaccountassignmentfora
giventransaction,thisisalsohighlightedwithtextasMissing.

Inaboveexample,youcanseethishappenedforPurchaseaccountand
purchaseoffsettingaccount.Wedonthaveanyaccountassignmentshere
aswearenotusingthisscenario.Bythisway,wecanclearlyidentifythe
gapsinaccountassignmentwithoutevendoingtheactualposting.

Wecanchangetodifferentmovementtypesandtransactioncombinations
andseehowaccountdeterminationhappensandbasedonwhatfieldsit
happens.Youcantrythisinyoursystemforvariouspermutationsand
combinations.

Secondfeatureavailablewiththistoolis,tocheckthescreenlayout.This
wouldhelptoidentifyanyconflictsinscreenlayoutrulesfortheinventory
G/Laccountitemduringmaterialdocumentposting.

Screenlayoutfortheinventoryaccountitemisdeterminedattwolevels.
 1.Fromfieldstatusgroupofmovementtype
2.FromfieldstatusgroupofinventoryG/Laccount.

ClickonCheckscreenlayoutbutton.InNextscreen,wecanseewhatis
thefieldstatussetatmovementtypelevelandG/Laccountlevel.Weshould
ensurethat,thereisnoconflictbetweenthesetwofieldstatusexist.

EG:WecanthaveafieldmandatoryinoneFSGandsuppressedinother
FSG.Postingwouldfailinsuchcases.

Sampleoutput:

JusthoveronthesmallICONtoseeifafieldis
Mandatory/Optional/Suppressed/Displayonly.Anyconflictsfoundshouldget
reportedintheerrorlogintoolbar.

Incaseofconflicts,prioritywouldbegiveninthesequencebelowwiththe
exceptionofRequiredandsuppressedcombinationwhichisnotallowed.

Thirdoptionprovidedbythistoolis,whereusedlistofG/Ls.Thiswould
helptoIdentifyinwhatallscenariosaG/Lhasbeenconfiguredinthe
system.

Entercompanycodeandvaluationareainnextscreenandexecute.
