reported speech. Start: Rob said that the other day

Rob: I was driving down the road, clearly within the speed limit, when all
of a sudden this police car appeared out of nowhere and flagged me
down. So I pulled over, and ever so politely said:

Yes officer, is there a problem?

And do you know what he said to me? He said

Do you realize what speed you were doing sir?

I couldn't believe it! I mean, you know me, I never go over the limit, I'm
ever so careful. So of course, I told him! I said:

Yes I do. I was going at 30 miles an hour and the speed limit here is 30
miles an hour so I'm a bit confused as to what I may have done wrong
