Design Basis

a) Inside diameters of piping shall be calculated for the flow

requirements of various systems. The velocities for calculating
the inside diameters shall be limited to those specified in clause
3.2 above.
b) Pipe line under gravity flow shall be restricted to a flow velocity
of 1 m/sec generally. Channels under gravity flow shall be sized
for a maximum flow velocity of 0.6 m/sec
c) WILLIAM & HAZEN formula shall be used for calculating the
friction loss in piping systems with the following "C" value:
