Associated Learning Standard(s): The resource may be generally applicable, if so, simply state that. List any ISTE-S standards that
seem to naturally align with the selected resource.

Content Standards:
Can be used with any content learning standard in a collaborative atmosphere.

ISTE Standards:
1.c. Use technology to seek feedback that informs and improves their practice and to demonstrate their learning in a variety of
ways.
1.d. Understand the fundamental concepts of technology operations, demonstrate the ability to choose, use and troubleshoot
current technologies and are able to transfer their knowledge to explore emerging technologies.
2.b. Engage in positive, safe, legal and ethical behavior when using technology, including social interactions online or when using
networked devices.
3.c. Curate information from digital resources using a variety of tools and methods to create collections of artifacts that
demonstrate meaningful connections or conclusions.
7.b. Use collaborative technologies to work with others, including peers, experts or community members, to examine issues and
problems from multiple viewpoints.

History/Social Studies Anchor Standard:

68.RH.7. Integrate visual information (e.g., in charts, graphs, photographs, videos, or maps) with other information in print and
digital texts.

RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource: Linoit works much like a bulletin board or poster collaboration but takes it
to the next level using technology. It displays the information in a virtual bulletin board format displaying the information as if it
is on sticky notes. Best of all it can be used and accessed across several technology formats such as PCs and smartphones
(iPhone, iPad, and Android operating systems. Students can also upload photos and add text to the photos describing each photo
in a few words or essay format. Students can also connect video to their virtual board.

INTEGRATION IDEA - COLLABORATION

How might you integrate this resource in a lesson plan to promote collaboration among students in your classroom, or among
students and others outside of the classroom? Students could take different historical figures and complete a sticky board of
each historical figure and throw up some post-it notes containing critical information about each figure. They can pull historical
images, cite the source, and give a brief description of why or how the photo relates to their historical figure. The photos or
historical figures could be displayed in a wheel format and sticky note Call-Outs containing critical information could be tied to
the figure.
It can also be used as a pre-collaborative tool in that group assignments can be divided among the members and marked as such
so that anytime a group member is on the board they can see what their area of responsibility is. It also allows the instructor the
ability to watch or monitor group progress in the event the group appears to be falling behind or maybe getting more than a little
off-track.
Sample Link you would use for a group:
I created this using just my wife and I as group members, but you can invite anyone in to the group to work on it or view progress,
i.e. an instructor or teacher could be a member of each group. Posted Jpeg on submission page is an example Board I created.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
Based on the value-added rating scale above, how would you rate the technology integration you described, using the
selected resource?
Explain your rating based on the rubric indicators.

It aligns with the content standards because you are not having the students learn anything different, just how they display their
interpretation of the materials presented. I have to go a 2.5 on lesson enhancement as it does more than have them just make
a plain old fashioned poster, but does not really transform the lesson completely. As it is technology and can even be completed
using Smartphones, it lets the student use a format (where students already used phones) to demonstrate their mastery of the
concepts in a unique way. A 3 for student centered because the student(s) will be able to exercise their own creatively in how
the project is completed. This goes beyond basic multiple choice answers and lets each student provide their individual input in
completion of the project/assessment. This requires the students to stay engaged and connected between the content itself, and
how it is presented. Students get to display the information in a unique way, but they still need to research the information to be
displayed on the virtual bulletin board.
