ROBOW AR

PROBLEM STATEMENT:
The challenge is to make a robot (manually controlled / autonomous) whose task
is to drive out your opponent out of the arena either by pushing, or dragging, or
throwing within a stipulated time. Prove that your robot has the strength and agility to
overpower your opponents.

THE ARENA:

MACHINE SPECIFICATIONS:
Dimensional Specifications (physical):
· The Robot can have maximum dimensions of,
· Length: 30 cm
· Breadth: 30 cm
· Height: No constraints.
· Weight: 5KG
NOTE: 5KG weight includes the accessories for autonomous robot, but for the manual
control robot it excludes the controls or the wires.

Power Specifications:
· The robot must be self powered, i.e., power supply must be onboard. AC power
supply will not be provided, except for charging your batteries (in the breaks only).
· The potential difference across any two points must not exceed 18 V. The
prerequisites to appear for the event, like the weight of the Robot and the dimensions
of the Robot will be measured.

Round1:
1. This happens to be a one-on-one round.
2. Both the Robots will start from opposite ends of the arena simultaneously from their
respective start points (viz., Team A & Team B) only after the robot takes a turn of 1800
as both the bots faces would be in the opposite direction The duration of this round
shall be 3min.
NOTE: Coordinator reserves the right to change the duration of this round as deemed fit
on the day of the event.
Judging criteria:
The Robot scores points if
(1) The Robot legally forces the body of the opponent’s Robot out of the arena.
(2) The opponent's Robot is off the arena by itself.
(3) The Robot flips the opponent’s robot on its back or side, and thus causing it to be
stationary for more than certain time span (time span will be decided by the judges). The
robot which wins in one round advances to the next round.
Tie breaker round:

In case of a tie, i.e., at the end of 3 minutes if none of the teams succeed in pushing their
opponent out of the arena, a tie-break round follows. The procedure of the tie breaker
round is as follows:
· Basically the Robots will be asked to push a 2-KG block through a particular distance
near the arena.
· Each team in this round will be given two chances. The better of the two timings will
be considered.

The robot whose timings are the minimum goes to next round. Robot will get a penalty
if:
It uses connecting wires to change the position of the robot or assist it in anyway
(negative points shall be awarded).
NOTE:
• The number of negative points shall be decided by the coordinator on the event.
Use of unfair means during the match will lead to immediate disqualification.
• Intentionally trying to damage opponent's part e.g. motor, wires etc. will lead to
disqualification.
• In all the cases, coordinator’s decision shall be the final.
• The number of rounds depends on the number of participating teams. After each
round the number of qualified teams will be halved. Thus finally two teams will
be remaining for the final round.
NOTE:
• Arena specifications and rules are subject to change if
required.
• The power supply should be strictly on-board i.e., mounted
on the robot itself else, it will lead to immediate
disqualification without any other considerations .
