An Archeological Investigation into Australian Cultures.

Conducting a research investigation of Australia, preparing a culture-based
model of the civilization, and presenting the civilization to the class.

Step 2: Creating the Archeological Burial Site (Science Credit)

As a team, select 1-2 artifacts for each of the 7 aspects of Teacher Sign-off
culture of your Early Civilization. when complete

Fill out the 7 Artifact Planning Sheets

Create miniatures of all of the artifacts you selected to represent the Team
7 aspects of your culture. The artifacts will need to be able to be Check-
buried and hidden in a tub of sand, and together they should give off when
clues to a scene. complete

1 Title slide with name, timeframe and picture of
civilization
2 Map of where civilization was located in the world
3 Close up map of civilization that shows water bodies,
mountains, borders, cities and other physical features.
4 Information and visuals on food from civilization (use
info gathered on research card)
5 Information and visuals on music and dance of
civilization (use info gathered on research card)
6 Information and visuals on art and architecture of
civilization (use info gathered on research card)
7 Information and visuals on clothing from civilization
(use info gathered on research card)
8 Information and visuals on language and stories from
civilization (use info gathered on research card)
9 Information and visuals on beliefs and religion from
civilization (use info gathered on research card)
10 Information and visuals on wars and weapons from
your civilization (use info gathered on research card)
11 Reason for end of civilization

Step 4: Present your civilization and your uncovered burial site to your section.

Step 5: Get your burial site photographed by your teacher and then cover your
